On Sunday the 18th of February 2018 our Scout Group was well represented by all sections at the annual Upper Beaconsfield Village Festival. It was a great opportunity to share scouting with locals who may not have any experience or knowledge on what scouts do!
This year we set up on the old tennis court with a pushcart/billy cart track for visitors to race around. We were well supported by our existing Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers, who volunteered their time to push kids around the track, and share their own experiences with scouting. We had plenty of support with all of our section leaders present too.
At the stand we had balloon giveaways, a video display sharing photos from recent scout camps, group activities, hikes and more. We also handed out scouts branded whistles, drink bottles, stickers and tattoos. Thanks to Scouts Victoria for supporting us on the day.
If you would like to check out 1st Upper Beaconsfield Scout Group you are welcome to come along to one of our nights to try it for free. Just check out our sessions section to see when we meet for each age level, or what we call sections: Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers.
